Josh Smith's Buzzer Beating Putback Dunk

Just a week ago, Josh Smith was on the "NOT List" of Dank Games's HOT or NOT Column (I know this doesn't exist, but it could?) for his busy hands rubbing all over Mike Bibby. This week, he put his busy hands to good use with a buzzer beating putback dunk to defeat the Magic. It's hard for me to say this play should vault Josh Smith from the NOT List to the HOT List, but it is an amazing play.

Sorry Cavs fans, but I can't help myself from taking tremendous pleasure in seeing a player called up from the D-League's Idaho Stampede (yes, there's actually a sports team called the Idaho Stampede) hit a game winning shot to beat Cleveland. What a great story amidst a season that has been overshadowed by some idiot who brought guns into the locker room.

Now, back to last night's game. Deron Williams left the game in the 4th quarter after re-injuring his wrist, which set up an opportunity for the Jazz's D-League call-up Sundiata Gains, or Yatta, as his new teammates call him. The Jazz and Cavs would exchange runs in an absolutely insane 4th quarter. The highlights are worth watching, by the way. With the Jazz up thirteen with under five minutes to play, LeBron started to catch fire as he launched three-pointers that seemed like awful shots but somehow the ball found the basket time and time again. It appeared the Cavs were going to run away with it, but missed free throws down the stretch kept the Jazz's hopes alive. With seven seconds left, Utah's Kyle Korver hit a crazy Larry Bird-esque behind-the-basket shot to bring the Jazz within one. The Jazz would immediately foul Big Z, who hit one of two free throws. And then this happened:



This is some real hoop dreams come true type shit, and it just makes me feel so good inside. In the words of the great Charles Barkley, "That was awesome."

I'm ready to leave L.A. now

As some of you know, I'm in L.A. right now. After watching this game at a lame sports bar by

myself, I'm ready to come back to Ohio. God damn it, that was heartbreaking. Kobe even said it

was his luckiest shot.

Making up for missed time

I know, I've fallen off pretty hard from posting on Dank Game, so I'm just going to post a couple videos of Dwyane Wade being sweet from the past week.

First off, we have Dwyane absolutely decimating Anderson Varejao. Being from Ohio, a lot of people question why I'm a Miami Heat fan and not a Cavs fan. This dunk more or less sums up why. Anderson Varejao is a total punk, and Dwyane Wade is totally sweet. Plus, if I became a Cavs fan, I'd be shamelessly jumping on the LeBron bandwagon. I must admit, I am jealous of Cleveland actually having an arena that fans show up to, but as my colleague Teen Mustache pointed out to me, people in Cleveland have nothing better to do than go support the Cavs.

Lastly, we have Dwyane's game winning three-pointer from tonight against the Nets. Despite missing Jermaine O'Neal and losing Mario Chalmers four minutes into the game with a strained right shoulder, the Heat looked pretty pathetic against the still winless Nets. I love watching D-Wade hit game winning shots, but I'd much rather see the Heat come out and win in convincing fashion. Especially since the Nets were missing several players, including two of their best players in Devin Harris and Courtney Lee. Still, that was one of Dwyane's best clutch shots. From the moment of the release, I just had that feeling it was going to sink.
